Joshua Beas - CISP, CDFA
Client Advisor

Joshua Beas is a Client Advisor at CooksonPeirce Wealth Management since 2012. He is responsible for managing private client relationships and providing comprehensive financial planning services to the firm’s clients that include investment, retirement, tax, insurance and estate planning strategies.

His career in the financial service industry began in 2000 as a Financial Advisor with the regional brokerage firm Janney Montgomery Scott LLP.  In 2003, he transitioned over to PNC Financial Services, holding various roles in retail and business banking, retirement and trust services, and wealth management.  The majority of his PNC tenure was with PNC Wealth Management, first, as a portfolio manager responsible for $250 million in assets, then as a relationship manager.  Josh soon realized that it was nearly impossible to maintain a constructive advisory role with such a large audience – wanting to  focus his practice and knowledge on a much smaller, concentrated client base, thus landing at CooksonPeirce.

Josh received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science with a Concentration in Latin American Studies from the University of Pittsburgh with an original aspiration of becoming an international law attorney.  Josh expanded his education with an Executive Certificate in Financial Planning from Duquesne University and also obtained a Certified IRA Services Professional (CISP) designation.  Additionally, Josh is a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst™ (CDFA™) who specializes in assisting divorcees with the financial complications of a divorce through the evaluation of marital assets and critical future planning.  He is Series 65 licensed.

During his free time Josh stays very active through mountain biking, trail running, hiking, and combative sports.  He is also an avid clay shooter, motorcycle rider, and frequent traveler both domestically and internationally, most recently hiking in the Rocky Mountains and the Adirondacks, along with surfing in Nicaragua.  Josh has also been involved with various organizations and non-profits.  He currently serves as Pittsburgh Chapter President of the Hill School, a preparatory high school located outside of Philadelphia.
